In this project I was working with a team of 5 to create a solution for food desert in New York as well as any other relevent cities. I created all the renderings for the Oasis system for the team and the veiwers to better understand the entire concept of the project.
COMPANY VISION
We look to build a system of food delivery through the usage of vertical farming system in containers, placed throughout the city in prominent food deserts. The creation of a central produce Hub with weekly MicroPods that are released for produce supply and delivery.
MISSION STATEMENT & PURPOSE
To be the oasis that every community looks to for a diverse, affordable and accessible variety of produce, empowering communities through food autonomy.
The Oasis
These high-tech container farming units are placed at extreme food deserts throughout Brooklyn. They are meant to provide users with easy access, that is less than a mile of travel from their homes. The Oasis locations can be found through the app.
Relevancy
The containers help us reduce the distance between customer and purchase. Placing our units in these locations helps them get access to healthy and fresh produce without having to travel large distances.
Strategy
A few of our container units exist in wealthier neighborhoods. Our sliding price scale model helps us brings in more profit from these containers while simultaneously letting us lower prices in other communities.
A large capital investment is required for the purchase of these units. Our company has partnered with established container farm companies to lease out the containers from them for an extend period of 6-8 years, after which we would buy out the pod.

The MicroPods
The MicroPods are small trucks fashioned to the company design. They go out twice a week from The Hub and is replenished with fresh produce grown from the vertical farms. Phase 1 introduces 4 trucks, 3 of which are mobile produce stores. They stop at strategic points along its routes for short periods of time (between 10 to 15 minutes or depending on the demand. The delivery MicroPod is exclusively for members and delivers the reserved vegetables to various locations.
In our developing future stages, customers can also drop off their organic waste for collection.

The Locker System
The digital locker system exists at all Oasis locations and at the Central Hub. The process is simple and efficient. A member can log onto the app and place an order, once the order has been processed we place them in a locker and send the access code to the customer through the app. They can come by at their convenience and pick up the crate. The crates can be dropped back at The oasis lockers, The hub or at The MicroPods as they pass by your routes. All locker units are fitted with cameras for threat protection as well as customer protection
Design Analysis
The Oasis looks to reduce the disparity between produce availability. The system enables us to provide our customers with the highest quality of produce at sustainable prices to all segments of society.
People
Our customers are our first priority. The Oasis was started to provide everyone with equal access to healthy and fresh produce. We employ multiple models to help reduce the price of our products while also ensuring that we maintain the quality. We have laid various systems to enable our customers to make the choice that's convenient for them.
Planet
Our state-of-the art technology produces products that consume less natural and vital resources. The vegetables are ethically grown with no genetic alterations. The vertical farming systems require substantially less amount of water and fertilizers. The container farming units take up a lot of 40 x 10ft, allowing us to produce more vegetables from a smaller area. These units also run on solar, reducing dependency on electricity.
Profit
Once the system is up and running, we see a upward projection in profits. Our consumer demand projection indicates sales of 3 million upwards. The annual membership schemes pull in a base amount and we expect an spike in membership on maturation of the company.
